The EZDigiMagic DM220 is a portable digital sharing device that allows photographers to take their digital film cards and immediately make fast CD-ROM copiesthus allowing the photographer to erase and reuse their digital cards.
I personally tested the DM220 at two of my Glamour, Beauty & the Nude workshops earlier this year, and now have a unit at home for my own use. The DM220 is small and lightweight and runs on household current, but offers optional power sources such as their rechargeable battery pack holder (requires four AA Ni-MH batteries with a minimum current draw of 1800 mA) or their 12V car adapter that plugs right in the cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle.
What impressed me the most is the ease and use of the DM220. I simply popped in my Lexar Media 512MB WA cards in the top, front card-slot of the DM220, dropped a blank CD-R, and pushed the buttonminutes later I had an exact copy of what was on my Lexar cards.

The DM220 model uses beeps to tell you if the copy was done successful. My experience with my first ten CD copies were flawless, and if you use 512 MB Lexar Media cards like I do with my Nikon D100, the less expensive 650MB CD-Rs are the way to go. If you have smaller cards, not a problem, as the DM200 has multi-session capability where you can dump several cards onto one CD, and it even consecutively numbers each folder on the CD for each card.
The basic package comes with the main unit itself, which is very light and portable at 1.7 pounds (without the battery pack option), and is only 1.5 inches tall. Included with the unit are the instruction manual, CD-burner software, one blank CD-R, USB device drivers for Windows and Mac platforms, a USB cable, AC power adapter w/cord, and a compact flash card (CF) adapter.
While the DM220 is standalone and requires no computer attached to operate, you can, via the USB cable and software drivers installed, turn it into an external CD writer/reader or even use as a card reader when attached to your personal computer.
When used with the optional battery adapter, you will average about 60 to 70 minutes of CD burning time, and as fast as the unit is, thats a lot of images to burn as one CD takes only a few minutes to complete.
The DM220 itself has five LEDs (lights) conveniently located on the top that indicate if power is on, if the device failed, if the disc is full, when the unit is ready to write, and if the battery is low. The actual OK/Write LED changes colors, from green to indicate the EZDigiMagic has detected both the digital camera card and the CD and its ready to write, and once you push the Copy button, the light turns yellow to indicate the writing is in progress.
Overall Im pleased with my DM220 unit as it allows me to fully utilize all my Lexar Media cards over and over again on the same shoot without having to carry more cards than I need or to stop and dump the cards into my laptopin fact, I dont even need to bring my laptop to the shoot with the DM220 at my side. EZDigiMagic makes digital photography EZ and costs less than $300.
