Try Ebay first. Bid within your realm and wait. Most backdrop peoducers run multiple sales on Ebay.

If you're NOT talking about a featureless, solid background then buy from a local dealer where you can pull out and look at several different backgrounds. Even among the same brand there are differences and some definitely look better than others. It's worth it to spend a bit more and get something you can live with.

Sincerely,

Robert Jensen

Steve Kaeser Backgrounds in Ventura CA has some pretty awesome (to me) deals...And they offer kit packages as well.

There is also an outlet closer to you, in Abilene, but I don't remember their name at the moment.

Cheers!

If you shop on eBay, look for auctions from Backdrop Outlet. I've bought stuff from them and their service is good, their prices are great. You can go to www.backdropoutlet.com and see a link to their current auctions.

Backdrop Outlet is good. Also check out http://www.dennymfg.com/

When you are in the market, check them frequently for sales. They have some nice close-outs from time to time.

Get on Ebay. seach "in item description" for amvona.com as an item.

If you search for them as a seller, just the items come up. By searching for amvona.com as an item, you also get those little pictures on the list so you can see what the background, or whatever, looks like without having to open up each item.

They've got great deals on other things. I've picked up four 9 ft. aircushioned lightstands for about $30 each including shipping.

you should check out the Photek Velour Backgrounds-in-a-Bag, they have about three different shades of gray. very high quality and I like them better than muslins... (B&H and Adorama both sell them).
