Jodi Miller from Dallas, TX during our shoot in Bellevue, WA during the Emerald Cup weekend.

Other than NOT cutting her toe off, and NOT overexposing in the first place, what else can be done?

I desaturated gradually and played with levels and balance...I was going for an almost sepia-but-not-quite, and little color, but just enough so that it looked on purpose...Trying to do anything to save it, because I love the shot, other than the missing toe...

When *I* look at it, it at first appears to be a washed out black and white, but then after looking for a moment, it starts warming to the eyes...What about you?

Jon,

First off I like the composition... that she fills the frame (like she's peeking in) and I like the diagonal that is created with the position/angle of her legs and arms. Other then the technical difficulties that you've pointed out and the few blown out areas (left hand, tips of shoulder etc.) the detail and toning are quite good IMO... and yes, it does have a warming feel to it. Looks like you were fairly successful in your recovery. Nice work.

Regards,
John

I like this shot. The pose is perfect. The right hand looks a bit blown but I think it's still a pretty good shot.
