I am investing in a photo printer. I am looking at the Kodak 8500 dye sub printer... but I'm not sure whether I want dye sub or inkjet... What models would you all suggest?

The model 3500 makes up to 8 1/2 x 11's .....I think they beat the Olympus dye subs anyday... I have heard of this one from Kodak though but I haven't seen the results but I understand that it costs over 20K... the Fuji 3500 costs about 4K these days.......they've come down in price in the last 4 years now..... They're worth it!

Hi Kent, I don't know how much you want to spend but I just bought and would reccommend the new Epson Stylus Photo R200 Photo Printer. It will not take Flash Cards directly into the Printer nor does it have a Display Screen but it is a true 6 color inkjet printer and the difference in quality over a 4 color printer is awesome. Just my opinion and I hope it helps.

Epson 2200....or the Canon 9000i....Depends on what type of machine...I use a 2200 for all of my print needs on a pc but a studio mate had problems with his on a Mac but swears by his 9000i.

I have an Epson Stylus Photo 2200 at work, hooked to both a Mac (iMac running 10.2) and a Windows '98 machine (P3 at 1.2GHz.) It works just peachy-riffic. I love the output and have no complaints with the machine. You can often get a good deal on a refurb (full warranty, just open box) at Epson's website. I also have a Stylus Photo 825 at home, which replaced my late, lamented Epson Stylus Photo EX. Are you seeing a pattern here?

I use a Canon i9100 and love it. Every bit as good as the Epson and now is less that $400. The new Canon i9900 will be around $500 and uses a 8 tank inking system. These are amazing printers and are fast and quiet.

Good luck!
