Well that depends on what film I'm using . Sorry I couldn't resist. I'm shooting mostly digital and find myself using 100 iso most of the time. If I'm in some really low light and need to hand hold I'll go up to 800. Anything higher then that and the noise really starts to show.

After a lifetime of shooting film under studio conditions, I have an emotional block when shooting anything other than 100 asa. Even though I'm now shooting digital (Canon 10D), I still have that imprint in my head. If it's higher than 125, I just don't phukin like it!

I never use an ASA setting anymore, but instead use ISO setting (grin).
It gives away our age to use the ASA term, don't you know?
On a more serious note, I use the lowest ISO setting I can for the given setting. The lower the ISO, the better the image qualilty and the least noise. I did the same thing in the film days.
Cheers,
rfs
