as PS curves (or actions) that simulates different varieties of film???

I have a Canon D60 and to me the color palette is roughly equivalent to a consumer film like Kodacolor. I was a TRI-X user for BW, a VPS color film (a long time ago) for pastel colors, Fujicolor for a greenish rendition, Agfa 1000 for a grainy contrasty rendition. Anyway you get the point.

I would suspect that something exists out there that simulates these films and more.
Any idea?

Indeed there are. Lots of them.
I use this one for black & white conversion. It's quite handy. They have several tools. Check em out

Adobe Studio exchange has lots of interesting actions etc. Try them and they are free.
