Recently I've noticed that whne I'm shooting with my D100 that the images look great on the display but when I put them up in photoshop I have to increase the brightness by as much as 30 points. Has anyone else experience or noticed anything similar?

I have the same problem, the LCD on the back of the D100 is not very useful for exposure. I have used it enough now that I know what the LCD image is suppose to
look like to be in the ball park with exposure.

I agree with Julian.. but I've also turned brightness on the LCD monitor all the way down. This is a little closer to what you'll see on your computer.

Don't use the LCD to check colour or exposure, just your focus and composition.

Digital cameras have a great built in display called a histogram... learn how to read it and use it... it is the answer to what is happening with exposure.

The little LCD on the back of the camera doesn't have nearly the ability or range of tones to properly display the image. It will give you gross exposure only. You need to use it for crop and other checks -- the LCD should look much brighter than the real exposure.

I turn the screen down on mine to -2 and if it looks about 1/2 over exposed it's just about right. The best thing to do is learn how to use the histogram function though.
