I have. I recommend buying one. No kiddin'.

Go to goggle.com and search for "How to Make Your Own Backdrop" "Denise Miotke" - as I understand it, the rules of GG are such that I'm not supposed to pose other URLs without an admin's approval. You'll find complete instructions at a place named BetterPhoto dot com.

It isn't hard, but it IS hard to get professional looking backdrops.

Good luck.

Actually, I don't think your supposed to post links to other forums without permission. Posting a link to a website that sells backgrounds should be OK as I understand it.

This guy sells very good backgrounds at resonable prices. I own 2 or 3 of them and I'm very satisfied with them.

I've used muslin from a fabric store and acrylic paint as well as dye. The paint works much better than and dye and dries quickly. Tyvek house wrap makes great backgrounds and it takes paint easily.... but it is a bit slick, be careful walking across it.

Check on eBay for some background deals, because by the time you spend the money or material and paint you cab usually buy one that will look better than what you make. Backdrop Outlet Usually has some good sales this time of year and they often sell them over eBay, I got a $350 muslin for $99 from them on ebay last year and it's wonderful.
Lees Photographic Supply Also offers some very nice backgrounds at very reasonable prices.
