You might be able to make a little if they are in your area. The problem will be the price you charge. Small items on ebay often go for small prices. For example I sell Children's Series books like Nancy Drew, Tom Swith, Hardy Boys, etc, and many of these will only sell for $10 to $20 (but some go into the hundreds). Of course, my cost was usually $1 or $2. You have to pay eBay an insertion fee and then a commission after a successful sale, so you begin to see that the final proceeds might only be $7 or $8 on a sale.
What I would suggest, is that you offer to train people to take good photos of their objects. You could charge $100 for a 1 hour course and show them the very simple secrets of tabletop photography.
Here is a simple sample of a tabletop shot for some books I recently sold.

This was shot in a tabletop light box.

Cheers,
rfs

Only if you can do a number of items at the same time. When I sell on ebay, I just use some quick and simple product shots of the items, shot on digital, and that's it.

I try to group all similar and similar sized items together, and just set one in, and then swap it with the next.

It isn't creative, but it is effective. The only complication is compositing maker's marks and other important details into a single image, to keep the cost down.

To do it well, you need to be able to shoot macro, as well as close up, mode.

It ain't rocket science, but good sharp and clear images, with nice color balance and contrast, can mean the difference in sale or no sale.

There is actually a store front business here in Austin. That has a photographer and lighting set-up. They shoot it, post it, ship when it sells and then write you a check after they take out their fees. It is remarkable how many lazy people out there would pay for all of that to be done. I have a Pop up light cube tent for product shots, that could be used but here's the deal. The item needs to sell at a high enough level that the person would not miss your fee.
