I shoot at the beach a LOT. Having never shot digital, I can't tell you if it makes a difference from film, but generally the only filters I use are UV (and it protects the front element of the lens) and the occaisional 81A or 81B if its overcast. Sometimes I will gel a fill flash to match the color temperature of the sun, but that's about it. I've played with Polarizers, but since I use manual exposures and the models move around a lot in the water, its really hard to make sure the exposure is correct, although with digital you would get to see that. The other thing is I shoot mostly Velvia, which is pretty saturated as it is, and seems to cut through a lot of the haze on its own. These shots of Mary Riley were done with no filters. The top one on Velvia, the bottom on Astia.
