OK i am moving to the Canon world... I have been a Nikon guy and currently shoot the S2.

So

10d
Canon 70-200 2.8
Sigma 24-70 2.8 (keep cost down)
Batt Grip with vert Release
two extra batts for the grip

Now the hard part

550EX or something else. I own the Turbo 2x2 so whatever flash i get needs to be able to connect.

I hear that the FEL is great but takes time...
I hear the Canon TLL is hit or miss with the 550...

So what do you think and why.. Please... thanks in advance
Chris

Last shoot with the S2

I'm FAR more in love with my 24-70 f/2.8 than I am with the 70-200 f/2.8. Have you considered the actual "L" 24-70 and then a couple of primes on the long end like an 85 f/1.8, 100 macro 2.8 and a 135 2.8?

That wouldn't be more expensive and you'd have an optically better system with a lot less weight on the camera. That 70-200 is really unwieldy.

I like the glass

the real question is the 550ex or maybe the 420 or something different all together...

The 550EX actually works well on the 10D (well, at least I can predict how much flash exposure compensation to dial in before each shot anyways). FEL isn't that useful for people pictures, since it fires off a preflash.

if it ain't too late I'd check out the new S3. I use and love the 10D but like most digitals there are some problems that plague me that I think the S3 might cure. As and old "neg man" I never learned the exacting techiques of slide exposure since negatives were so forgiving. If I understand the Fuji super ccd correctly it is in reality two ccds on one chip thus giving greater exposure latitude. If true you might want to consider this before jumping to the 10D.
