As I hinted at the other day, Canon has announced the EOS 1D, Mark II with 8.2 MP, 8.5 fps with bursts up to 40 frames in JPEG and 20 frames in RAW mode. Other buzz I hear is improved RAW format and new software that is included with the Mark II at no charge that will be better than the Adobe Camera RAW plug-in or what's built into CS. (Another rumor: the Adobe RAW converter was reverse engineered but the new Canon software is supposed to get the most from the new Canon RAW format files.)

I have a PDF file of the Mark II brochure that Rolando can post for intrested people to download. What about it, Rolando?

Joe I was wondering if you'll be having any workshops this year scheduled in Colorado? If you do let me know.

Thanks,

Patrick

Patrick:

I hope to have some; John Clifford was talking about putting something together. In Dec, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and she has had two surgeries and just strated chemotherapy, so that has been foremost on my mind. That along with my work for Shuuterbug, eDigitalPhoto and FirehosueDolls.com has kept me busy.

But I want to have a few small (less than 10 people) 1/2 day workshops and would prefer to do them when the weather is warmer so we can shoot outside. Please keep in touch.

Joe

Looks like an interesting camera. Any idea as to what the street price is going to work out to?

Thanks.

From what I understand the street price will be under $4000, maybe as low as $3700. I asked that question of a major NYC retailer while I was reading your post and he didn't have a price yet, but expects to soon. But by then, I guess everybody will know. So this is a FWIW, price.

probably later in the year,

Highlights include 1.3x crop factor, dual memory card usage (CF & SD), sealed body, better color, better LCD, looks like a great package, I just hope they keep it close to $3500
