I used Net Zero for about ten minutes longer than I used AOL (AOL certainly has its place, it's excellent if you travel a lot and don't want to fiddle much with setting up - When I travel I don't HAVE to be online, and I just couldn't stand its mail handling, Big Brother control and its training wheels).
It may just be my area, but the (NetZero) service was VERY flaky; multiple dials to get on, very frequent boots off, and an unnacceptably LOOOONG delay in mails (we're talking hours). When I quit them, I still had a mail sitting in my outbox waiting to be sent.
Just my experience, and you should know that if I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any.
