Hi all,

I hope it's ok to post things for sale in the Tech Forum. If not, just delete it and I apologize ahead of time.

I have a virtually new (about 6 months old) Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 HSM lens for sale. It comes with the carrying case as well. It is flawless and is an awesome lens. I wanted to give others here the option of buying it if needed before I put it up for auction. I'd like to get $600 for it. If interested, reply here or send me a PM.

Thanks and good day!

Mike

Here is a picture of it. Forgive the bad resolution. I shot it with a Sony Mavica and they have terrible resolution.

Hi Clint,

Just for the record, I'm moving over to Canon. I'm getting a 10D for now. I'll be buying a new set of lenses for the Canon and if I move to Texas, you can surely borrow them! I love my Nikon stuff but it would appear that they have dropped the ball in the digital arena and so I'm going to move to Canon. Personally, I don't think a person could go wrong either way but for the higher end stuff, I think Canon takes the cake. I sure hope saying that doesn't cause a massive flame war. We've had enough of those lately.

Good day sir and good luck in your quest for fast glass!

Mike

I hear ya. I'm here with my daughter (who wants to be an astronomer) and contemplating the mysteries of the universe as the eclipse comes into full bloom and the temp. outside is a cozy 28 degrees or so...and winds whipping at about 30-40 knots. Colder than a witches left....well, you get the idea. Even my oldest son today said he wants to go somewhere where it's warm all the time. I always figures Texas for being hotter than hell all the time and so I've avoided looking for work there. HOWEVER, I was very much surprised to find Dallas listed as one of the best cities in America to live in. I thought the crime rate there was just short of astronomical proportions. Here in Maine we have less crime in one year than most cities have in one day. It's a trade-off though because the pay scales in Maine suck and we now have the highest taxes in the nation. Idiot voters keep approving bond issues during elections and this year they approved all three totaling just under $100 million. Where the *$&# do they think the money comes from to fund these bond issues? HELLO? It's called TAXPAYER DOLLARS!!! If Mainers are going to keep approving these bond issues then they better stop pissing and moaning about how high our taxes are now. Taxation is one reason I'm wanting to leave the state (not to mention that I'm ready for some continual warm weather in my old age of 38 years).

Ok, before I blow a gasket I'll get off the taxation bandwagon. I've got my resume on Monster.com and am actively looking! Here's hoping!!

Good day sir!

Mike

That is funny...we have a saying around here...."Life is too short to live in Dallas!"

Texas is an animal all it's own. If you live where i live, you actually keep alot of the money you make. but in Austin and Houston...Taxes will eat you alive...not to mention the Real Estate cost.

I'll take your word for it. I've heard plenty abour TAxes, er, I mean TExas. However, I must still make the claim to fame of living in the highest taxed state in the nation due to our low population but large land mass given our population.

I've got dibs on a job in Maryland and the pay starts somewhere in the low six figure range and so I'm really hoping that one comes through. That would adequately fund my glamour photography endeavors.
