Does anybody know if the modeling lights in alien bees are the type that you can purchase at home depot or if they're something special that you have to purchase from the manufacturer. They come with 100 watt modeling lights but I want to get the 150 watt quartz modeling lights, they're listed for $10 a peice on the website but I remember others talking about getting modeling lamp bulbs at home depot for $2 or $3 (can't remember which brand of lighting though). Thanks.

It's a pretty common bulb. They were on sale when I got mine, I can't remember how much I paid but they were not expensive.

The Bulbs in my Bees are just your normal GE 100Watt bulbs you use around the house...get them anywhere...I'm not sure what the socket is rated at but I think it should be ableto deal with a 150watt bulb....

No, I use Aurora Genesis lights mainly. But I do put the bees to use quite a bit. I love them, they're just fine for everything I do. If I had a great budget like some guys I would buy a few extra just to have a round for emergencies but I would rather have better lights for general use. Just my thoughts...
