Nope not with a Canon 10D at 1,500.00 and the 1Ds at 7,000.00. Both better cameras.

Hi Jayson,

I would say you are rite there. They need to compete with the Canon 10D with this camera.

I think 1,500.00 should be the price point. Its a 4 megapixal camera. There are point and shoots that are 5 MP now.

I sold my Nikon gear when Canon came out with the 10D and also bought a 1Ds the 11 mp Canon.

I have a friend that has allot of Nikon lenses 10,000.00 or so and will wait for the 10 or 15 mp Nikon body that's supposed to come out soon.

But what will one of those cost considering the 4 mp is 3,000.00. Lucky he's got deep pockets.

Andrew has the investment in lenses and loves Nikon gear but damn. I just sold my Nikon stuff at a small loss when I tried the 1Ds.

At 7,000.00 1Ds is the top for me. I guess if Nikon does a 11 mp camera it will be 15,000.00. I guess there hoping the pros out there will just pay because there in deep with the lenses like my friend Andrew. And can use it as a tax rite off.

Andrew's web site is www.carpix.net is cool. Not fashion but cars.

These photos were taken with a 10D. The 10D is very close to 35mm if not the same and the 1Ds is medium format quality.

i would be more apt. spend 15K on a back for my RZ67 before i put that into a DSLR...the leaf valeo 11mp looks decent..and a nice 6x7cm viewscreen too..I love my nikon and the F mount..but I have to admit..canon digi is kinda kicking butt...

I just wish i could justify digi right now...I am hopeing I will not need digi right off if I get the cruise ship photog gig...and if i do ..it will be a D100( only way I can justify a back up...MAYBE ) and at that I am gonna have to beg money from someone... Its allot of money you are rite. The D100 6 mp is a better deal for you. The Canon lenses focus pretty fast too. I have used Nikon and Canon both for years and there both great! Just don't understand the new digital Nikon's price like you. I love my Nikonos underwater camera. We use a Sinar / Leaf Volare in the studio.

See your email.
