You know that translucent cover for the rear panel LCD... I KNEW I was going to lose it sooner or later. Well, it was a little sooner.

So here's the info you need when YOU lose yours.

The part number is BB-13437-100 and the part price is $7.65 (as of Sept 19, 2003). That's less shipping. Ouch!

You can order it from Fuji parts at 1-800-659-3854, extension 3451. They will take credit cards. Just don't do it right now, they have two outstanding back orders for quantities of them (lots are being lost!) and ARE NOT accepting orders for them until they clear the backlog. Give them a couple of weeks.

So how to keep it from disappearing again? I plan to drill a little hole in the next one and tie a length of fishing line to it. The other end of the line will get tied either to the camera strap or a clip that goes on my belt or somewhere.

Anybody got a good tip on how to easily get nose oil off the LCD in the field?

I "almost" lost mine just this past week for the first time in almost a year of having the camera. I put it in a shirt pocket a few days ago, and happened to stumble across it while preparing my laundry. I was wondering where I was going to get a new one if it came to that!

I know Hoodman makes LCD cleaning wipes, but I don't know where to get them. I got mine at one of Rolando's workshops.

Thanks for the replacement info, the idea of tying it to the camera, and good luck getting the LCD clean!

Later!
-Don

Methinks it's time for an update...

I did a job with Josh Lynn the other weekend, we both use S2's so naturally we are trading off cameras left and right depending who needed what when.

Suddenly I got mine back to find no cover. The phrase "I think i lost it on the front lawn" is not the phrase you want to hear when you are photographing at a mansion and it is now nighttime.

"I will get you another one" was not what I wanted to hear. After a small hissy fit and me pointing to the front lawn, I got back my cover.

And yes, I wish Fuji had them in stock so i could buy more and sell them on the black market

LCD....easy thing to do is go to your local computer store and buy a pack of the Fellows palm pilot screen protectors...trim to fit and apply.protects from scratches...and is easy to clean with a damp napkin....when too dirty..simply peal off and replace.

I took mine off and left it in the box the second I got the cam. Completely worthless. As for cleaning the LCD, a microfiber cloth for cleaning eyeglasses works great - available at any optical dept.

The green square Honestly, I have done so much shooting with Tia lately I forget what I had it on. Most likely auto on the WB and i whatever i was metering with the fast falling sun. For true color questions of the image, ask Alice Marie, she worked some magic on this picture to make it what you see before you, she is the best when it comes to things involving the world of color or anything saying Adobe

Here's a link to a cover available from B&H. It's not the same as the Fuji piece, but some may prefer it. Cost is $19.95 for two in a package plus shipping.

If you have problems with the loooonnng URL below, just go to the B&H site and type HOHSLR2 in the search window.
