Hi Gang,
I have a profoto ring light and would like to rewire it to work with my speedotron (black line) packs. I have been told that it's "no big deal" just a rewire of the plug. I was told the same thing for norman packs. I might simply make an adapter cable.

But.... all the shops want $150 or more to do it. I'm well versed in being able to do a simple wiring/soldering job. Iv'e looked al over the interent for this information. It seems that the shops keep this and other simple info pretty close the the vest.

Any information or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Larny

Larry there is a little more to it than putting the proper plug on the unit. There are things like capacitor charge and trigger voltage to consider. Max bulb ratings and recycle times. A light is not just a light especially when you are dealing with gas discharge. You can destroy your ring light. Pay the man and save yourself a posible fire. Then again if you like the tast of copper and being treated for b+ energy burns.
