For what it's worth, I voted for Canon since that's the 35mm I've been using for 11 thousand years. But I should qualify that vote with the info that I meant the old Canon, in fact the 'old F-1', the one with a metal body, the circa 1970 version. In spite of the current trend toward high tech and digital cameras, I'm in the process of doing some testing and other preparations for reverting to my old and trusted 4x5 view camera. It's been gathering dust for about 15 years, but will soon be back in use.

For what? Film? Digital? Paperweight? To hit your wife in the head with?

I've been using my Canon "New" F-l for 17 years, and it has given me faithful service during that time, as well as the Canon FD lenses that I own. (50, 85, and 135mm)

I've used a few cameras over the years. I started out with a Topcon 35mm then went to a Canon QL, which I like very much and would go back to, but I've been using Pentax since the early 80's. Started with the K1000, which I still use, and then bought the A3000. Doesn't have a lot of features with it, but I like it.

What I would love to own is a Nikon F4 system. Well someday.

One day my wife and I were (how do you say) "not having a good day"... Well my wife was holding our waterproof camera (worth about $150) and I was complaining about something (as usual). She turned towards me, the hand holding the camera hit me and the camera falls to the floor. The battery compartment hood flies off the camera and the batteries fall out. She says, "Look what you made me do!" I was so upset I finished off the camera by smashing the rest of it back onto the floor. I said, "Now look what YOU made ME do!!!" Its funnier now than it was back then

Seems to me I could check about four brands in your list. I dearly love some aspects of all of them. Plus, you didn't even note brands like Mamiya, which makes some really nice 645 and 67 format cameras.

For future polls, I'd respectfully suggest the question be a little more specific: "Which camera brand do you use for most of your shooting?"

That I could (sorta) answer. Right now, it's the Fuji S2 w/ Nikon lenses.

Now that you've asked the question about favorite cameras, I can think of a bunch of answers:
1. A Leica for when you want to be ultra-quiet. (Really like the M4/M5 line.)
2. A Nikon F for a workhorse. (Wonder how much it would cost if they could make one of those today?)
3. A Hassy just because.
4. A Mamiya 645 because somebody stole mine and I want it back. (Or replaced.)
5. Another Fuji S2. One is never enough.
6. A Canon (or two or three) for sports.
7. A Minolta for that amazing little 250 mm mirror they don't make anymore.
8. A Speed Grafik, just because it's so darn retro.
9. One of those hand-made wooden 11x14 or 16x20 cameras, the ones with the beautiful wood veneer, just so I could worship it.
10. A Nikonos, just because they're so damn ugly.
Well, there are a few answers. Enjoy!
