I use a 50mm f/1.4 on my Canon D60 and love the results. The combo of the lens plus the digital multiplier ends up around 85mm.

I don't believe that the perspective changes though. from what I understand you to get the Boken that you get from an 85mm lens, you stil have to use an 85mm lens. and to me the Boken is what makes that portait lens.
