THAT'S What's been bugging me, the clouds are lit different! Whew!!! I thought I was going mental...I don't have a decent clouds shot handy, I'll have to make one tonight if the opportunity presents itself...

[/ QUOTE ] Don't take a new picture.. crop the sky and flip it... then paste it back on the photo..

I tried that but the lighting in the sky is from quite high up so even flipping the shot makes things feel awkward...I still don't have a good shot of the sky because there no clouds last night and I really want clouds. So, until I get a good shot, here are a few hacks to make things a bit interesting.

And, yes, I know I'm doing the whole amateur "look what I did" thing, but so what? I'm allowed.

By George! I think you've got it. The first one is right on!!!! Great Job. Light actually looks natural and matches the colors..

The second one is in my humble and amatur opinion very good as well. The third one is a Hot shot.. needs enlarging and framing to sell here in AZ for a great summer shot.

There were one or two little things that I noticed.. but they don't really add up to more than a "ok, I noticed it" type of thing. And I certainly have no right to point them out as I am no expert at photoshop or other things. Well, I am an expert at a few things.. but not here..

Any of the three would look great framed and hanging on a wall in my personal opinion.. so quit looking at windmills and thinking of clouds..

....The sky in the third shot isn't actually a sunset shot. In fact, it was taken in the dead of night. This is the glow on the bottom of the clouds from the distant (nearby) city!!!

Here is the original shot that I got the sky from.

Ok, I'm still going to nit pick here. But that's 'cause I was at that shoot and I know for a fact that the shore on the far side of what we generously called a lake doesn't fall of the right side of the planet that way. You've managed to keep the sky horizontal relative to the frame, when in fact it too needs to fall off to the right, or....level the photo out then add your sky.

I might be having focus issues with the 10D but you my friend, I think we'll need to tie a bubble level to your shoulders or something!

It's not even the real sky, why should I follow the laws of physics?

Regardless, it was more of an excersize than a goal for a finished, high quality product. I fthat's what Ihad actually been after I would have started with a better image to begin with...

Wait until I get a chance to work my shot with Sheena!!!
