Hello gang

I have a question for you pro's regarding Compact Flash cards. I have a friend who's buying a Canon 10D and he's wondering if there is a noticeable difference between the usual CF card and the CF Ultra. A difference that makes it worth the extra approx 25% in price.

from what I have seen it doesn't really make that much difference. The only place I have seen faster (well fast enough for me to notice) was when downloading from a card reader.

as far was write speed, I am constantly hitting my buffer end when shooting sports

Not sure about Canon but Nikon D1X does not work with all kinds of cards. Nikon has a site where you can check out whether or not the cards work. Unfortunately that site is out of date because my new 48X card works fine but they don't list it.
