Just picked up a S1. Any comments from users? Anything I need to know/look for.

Also, any comments on a Tokina 20-35mm f/2.8 ATX 235AF Pro?

Thanks,

-mp

MP,

cant help on the s1, except that JT Smith uses one and his are imho some of the best pictures on GG.

As for the lens, its a great lens, I have one for my S2, it does not get used often but when it does it well worth owning it !!!!!!

enjoy and show us some of your images with your new toy !

That is what I am using. It is a great camera but has some color issues...it tends to go towards green so it is always a battle to get the colors right in PhotoShop. Other than that it takes great photos in my opinion. Here is a shot I took of model Monika with the S1...

Tina,

Thatís funny, my S2 goes towards the red a little.

Here is what I have found works very well!!!!!!

Once you are ready to shoot either with gods light or your own, set a custom white balance, then just before you start shooting for real, have you model hold a gray card towards the camera and in the light you will be using.

Once you get to your Photoshop open the image with the gray card. Create an adjustment layer and then select hue/saturation. Take the mid tone dropper and click on your gray card. you can move around the gray card a few times but each time you click you will see the image cast go away to what should be about as close to the real colours as you will ever get.

hope this helps.

David.

Thanks folks. (nm)

S1's are great. I've been using one for a while now and my only problem is dust occasionally. That's my fault though.

Happy Shooting!!!
