Hi all,

I live in Australia which does not have Walmart. I have searched for ages trying to find somewhere online I can buy one (some) from but with no luck.
Is someone able to get a few from Walmart for me please and ship to Australia?
I can pay costs plus shipping via PayPal

TIA

While this technique that Rolando writes about (I take it you read that here on GG?) is some years old I think you'd be best to look at this as a Suggestion instead of Requirement. On at least one occasion I looked through Walmart and couldn't find *this particular* scarf. So it may not be available, sorry.

Instead start looking around for something similar. Mostly what you are trying to find is a piece of material that has minimal density of weave while having smallish diameter of the thread. Try looking in a sewing/craft material store. Silk comes to mind but also nylon. The density of the weave will determine light transmittion (and particularily shutter speed). The diameter of the thread will determine the amount of diffusion.

As Mr. Weiner says, the actual scarf isn't a requirement - it's a guide. I've used black stockings and the legs of pantyhose to pretty good effect as diffusing material. Much easier to find. You have to experiment with the number of layers, distance of material from lens, etc., to get the effect you want.

The shot that is my avatar was taken through one layer of black pantyhose material stretched tight.
