I am planning on buying a Alien Bees Ring Flash but the problem with that set up is I need to plug into a 110v outlet.
I am going to need something more portable, preferably that uses the hot shoe on the camera (E-620) and that will allow me more mobility and not require being tied to a wall somewhere...anyone have any good suggestions??
I will be using that set up to shoot people and possibly bands in a bar or club. I've never done much photography with on camera flash so am a bit overwhelmed by the choices out there.

Alien Bee ring flashes can be used with the Vagabond II portable power inverter and battery when there aren't any electric outlets nearby. If you need something more compact than that you would need to go with a reliable flash suitable for Olympus to mount on your camera.

Thanks for the reply.
I checked it out, cost is $300.00, so that brings the total up to $700.00 for the light and battery Pac...and apparently there is some problems with a re-designed unit.....

Vagabond II – Currently on BACKORDER
In our most recent shipment of new Vagabond™ II inverters, we discovered that our vendor made an unauthorized change to a component part. As a result of this change, some of the inverters do not function reliably and therefore make the product unreliable. A number of systems have failed in testing and could similarly fail in the field. For this reason, we will not be selling systems with these inverters and have been working diligently with the vendor to solve the problem. We apologize for this delay, but as we are currently investigating the issue, we do not have an estimated date on when the product will be available. Please contact us (Toll Free 1-800-443-5542) if you have any questions.

I ended up buying a Dedicated Targus Bounce Flash unit and a Soft box from Opteka. Hopefully that will fill the void for now and cost was only about $100.00 total.
