I'm still using a old Olympus E-10 and am about to upgrade. I don't have the budget that I had when I bought the new E-10 so an E-5 or E-3 is out of the question.
I was strongly considering a E-620...the prices off E-bay aren't bad, but then I got to looking at the E-520 and E-420. I can buy a factory refurbished E-420 setup with 14-42 and 40-150 lenses for under $400.00, the same deal for a E-520 for just under $500.00
Does anyone have experience with either/both of these cameras? Both are 10mp and I know both are a HUGE improvement over the old E-10...which I truly love. Just wondering if the E-520 is worth the extra hundred...???

If you are talking about the Camedia E10 that was one sweet camera. I owned one and it was my first digital camera and it took some great pictures. Its only drawback was it was not an interchangeable lens camera which limited its use.

I sold that camera and bought a Nikon D100 and to this day I still think I took a step backwards in getting the D100.

Rolando Gomez is, or was, an Olympus sponsored photographer so you may want to drop him a PM and ask his opinions.

As for upgrading what you have I suggest you take a look on the KEH Camera web site at their pre-owned Olympus gear. There are still a lot of Olympus E-1's out there and the prices are very reasonable.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Yes, that's the one I mean, and I agree it's a great camera, but the non-interchangeable lens and 4.1 MP leaves it behind the pack nowadays.

Your the 2nd person to recommend KEH so I'm jumping over there as soon as I post this. Going to be buying this weekend...or at least ordering, so will let you know what comes about.

Here's my take:
e-420 Great camera, no image stabilizer
e-520 Now you get an image stabilizer
e-620 One of the best out there from Oly, with great features like fine focus adjustment, newest one in the bunch (excluding e-5).

I would have no problem using any one of these, lest we forget no matter what the pixel count the sensor is the same size. The real question here is do you want kit lenses. They are good, but if you get serious you'll be wanting to go towards a high grade lens. The 12-60 is as good as people say.

A 420 with a 12-60 will produce pictures equal to a 620 with the same lens. The question is are 2 million extra pixels going to make that much of a difference.

Well, I just bought a Factory Refurbished E-620 with 14-40 and 40-150 Standard lenses (also both factory refurbished) There is also a bunch of other stuff besides the normal like spare battery, 16 Gig memory card, a case ,etc that comes with it. Total with 3-day shipping is $653.50
I figure in a month or two I'll add the battery grip and a few more months maybe spring for a faster lens...I couldn't afford that right now so got to stay with the less expensive stuff. It's still got to be a huge improvement over my old E-10...Eve's on stand by already for a new shoot to try it out..!!..

Great to hear that you got something you are going to be happy with. Just remember that even though you have used prior Olympus products there will be a learning curve as you get use to your new gear. Once you've got everything sorted out go ahead and post some images here for the gang to see and remember, we want your "A" game! Good luck.
