In Garage Glamour, Roland has a setup with a model on the some hay bails with a 6-light setup. Two of the lights he says are pointed at the legs, one light at the midsection, one mainlight, one pointed at the background and the last one as a hairlight.

If you look at the face, it clearly has a light on it to give it a "pop". But this was not disclosed in the write up?

Okay, I'm sure this has been covered countless times but it seems there's no consistant answer. I know Playboy has alot of lights to setup (10-12+), uses Profoto power packs, Zoom Spot for the face, CTO, and other stuff. But wondering more about the lights?

After watching the girls next store, it looks like there's 4 lights with 10 degree grids lighting the legs, torso and arms. Next, 2 lights lighting the hair from behind. A big parabolic reflector to light the room, a beauty dish or softbox as a main light, another softbox to light the body, Zoom Spot for the face, few more for the background

Any other thoughts?

I'm not sure which article you're referring too, but I would not leave out any lights, not on purpose. I'm very thorough about explaining my lights. There are no secrets in photography. If you want current information, please go to http://www.lensdiaries.com for how images are done. Thanks, rg.

Didn't mean to sound like I was denying you but I don't notice it, in Garage Glamour: Digital Nude and Beauty Photography Made Simple on page there's 2 lights Larsn 48" soft strip with a 40 deg grid and another soft strip below it

But the Face in this picture of Hillary on the haystack looks particularly accent, like it had a 3 degree grid on the face

Also, thanks for the lens diaries, looks good, with the shot of Eleya behind the scenes with Freytag (I assume at Playboy Studio West)

http://www.lensdiaries.com/blog/wp-c...centlights.jpg

It looks like there's four lights accenting in the back (3 maybe the 4th at the background), then was there two more? It looks like a beauty dish with a 30 degree grid as the main?

I probably had an accent light of 10-degree grid on her face, if I remember, it's been such a long time. Why it was left out, not sure, as editors do take things out. Thanks on the LensDiaries.com comment, doing my best with it. Yes, it was Studio West in Santa Monica. The technique used on her is the over/under lighting technique, more of that can be found on LensDiaries.com and I will do an article showing how. I don't want to give it all away yet ;-) but it's a three-light set-up just for the face. You can see some mentions about it here: http://www.lensdiaries.com/blog/phot...n-photography/ I hope that helps, thanks, rg sends!
