All:

I have noticed for quite a while that the Liquify tool has become a mainstay of many photographers post production Photoshop tool boxes. While I am not a wholesale fan of the Liquify tool, or any other Photoshop tool for that matter when it is used to excess or as a replacement for a poorly taken photograph, I do believe it definitely has a use. Like any tool the user has to be familiar with the Liquify and its various options in order to be able to use it properly and some of us out there including myself are not.

I would like to ask one, or more, or the photographers here on Garage Glamour to post a tutorial in the Techniques section of the GG Forums giving step by step guidelines and tips on how to use the Liquify tool and any others that they find useful in post production. Please include a description of any settings and tweaks that are used.

Thanks.

Being a firm believer in the maxim that you "lead by example" I am posting a link to a good, if a little basic tutorial I found on the Internet on the use of the the Smoothing Tool. I played around with it and I can see where this tool can have some great potential. This tutorial is definitely on the basic side and does not produce anything near the outstanding results we see from the top-notch photographers here but everyone has their own unique workflow and way of tweaking things.

Here is the link, give it a try:

Good luck.
