Ok. I give up. How do I adjust my circular polariser when I use my lens hood? Oh sure, I can take off the lens hood, adjust the filter, then put the hood back on, but that means I have to put the hood somewhere ... and I'm usually standing in the water or on a boat where it's not convenient. And, my short stubby fingers can't easily reach inside the hood and rotate the filter without touching the lens. Aggggggrrrrrrrrr!!

If you use one of the aftermarket rubber hoods that screws into the front of the polarizer, you can turn it all at once.

I have to agree with Mr Harper. Even though to me those rubber hoods are ugly. That would be a very workable solution to your dilemma.

Thank you both for reminding me of an obvious solution. When I sold my D300 in November, I gave the buyer one of old lenses ... AND my ugly flexible rubber lens hood. Arrrgg! Now it looks like I'll have to buy another one.
