Hello everyone this is my first post.
A few months ago I started taking nude photos of my wife. At first it was just a one time thing but it has become something we both like doing a couple times a week now. The thing is I'm a complete amateur. Also as far as equipment all I have is a new cannon powershoot. We both like the pictures but I want them to look even better.
What books should I read or websites should i check out to get the basics down? As far as equipment what is nessecary for a beginner? and what other advice could anyone give me?
I've been trolling these boards and I've learned a little already but any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Welcome!

One of the blogs that I've been reading and found some very good information on general glamour photography is:

http://glamourapprentice.com/blog/

Regarding equipment, start off with a decent DSLR like a D90 or the new D5000 and perhaps a single flash that you can trigger off-camera using Nikon's CLS system. Work with different lighting to find something appealing. Many times it comes down to trial and error.

Finally, get your wife's permission to post photos here for critique. Peer review is a fantastic way of learning.

Good luck and looking forward to your posts!

Ariston has some good suggestions, I'll just add that Cannon also has some very nice entry level DSLRs and you can also trigger their flashes off camera. I don't know which power shot you have, but I believe some of them even have hot shoes. I also second that you really need to get some images up for crittique. It's a great way to learn.

That is a nice little camera, however it does not have a pc jack or hot shoe. You can still use it with hot lights and get some pretty decent results.
