I am looking at purchasing Spyder3 Pro or Elite, for monitor calibration. I would like to upgrade later so that I can also color management my printer but not today. Was wondering what kind of experiences everyone had with color mangement software, and, if I should be looking at another color management software altogether.

I have two Samsung 23" monitor displays on a dual video card running Vista on a HP Desktop that I use with Photoshop CS3. I also have a 15" Apple Pro notebook with Leopard OS also with Photoshop CS3.

I would like the software to work on both operating systems, but am not willing to sacrifice quality for price. I also would like to calibrate a printer later so upgrade would be nice, instead of buying a new system.

I have the Spyder 3 Elite. It is very effective and easy to use. I use it to calibrate the dual monitors on my desk top, our 2 laptops, and it also has the ability to calibrate projectors, which I will use as soon as our studio is done. I am happy with the Spyder products. I have friends using calibration systems from X-Rite that are also very effective, but also more expensive.
