O dont know if you have decided on a brand but the olympus e-510 has been seen at best buy with 2 lens for 449 closeout price. I personally own the e-3 and the e-500 good cameras and very good kit lens to begin with. the xti is also a very good camera.

I bought a Canon Xti in Jan 2007 through an outfit called California Computer Center and had no problems. At that time, California Computer had the best price I could find for the Xti. However, I checked them out through the Better Business Bureau before I made the buy. I think the bureau's online address is:
www.bbb.org. It is a good site to check out before you buy from any company.

Unless I have completely missed it in this post, one very, VERY good source for equipment is KEH Camera in Atlanta, GA. Their web site is: http://www.keh.com .

They deal in mostly used equipment and their prices are great. They have a very conservative grading scale which errs on the side of caution. If they rate an item as Ex then in all likelihood it is an Ex+.

Their people are knowledgeable and they stand behind what they sell. Give them a try and good luck.

Well I took every ones advice and today I went to Best Buy and got the Xti with the kit lens. I got it on sale for $629.00. Now I just need to figure it out.

I'm going to be doing a lot of different shooting, but a lot of glamour type shots of the wife. Could some of you take a look at the package deals to give me some suggestions? I would like to go with 2 lenses a long and short if I can afford it or should I just get a better quality all around lens?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Oh, as far as glamour/portait lenses, if you plan on doing a lot of studio work, don't forget about the 85mm lense, it's usally on the expensive side, but well worth the money. Something to save up for, lenses are one thing that shouldn't be skimped on.
