I would highly reccommend that each and everyone of you run, not walk to the nearest magazine stand and buy the January 2008 issue of Popular Photography magazine. Once you have it open the magazine to Page 34 and you will find the Holy Grail of photography, a tutorial on the use of the always mystical and ever elusive Photoshop Curves function.
I was browsing through my issue this evening and was absolutely stunned to find something that could make this mythical function so easy to understand, use, and manipulate. The article covers curves manipulation, white level adjustments, black level adjustments, midtone level adjustments, guassian blur, masks, and the legendary RFS's personal favorite tool, the "Black Mask".
The article is a virtual gold mine. Up until now I have only been able to dabble in Curves because I couldn't understand it and I could never phrase my questions so anyone with the knowledge could answer them in a way that made sense to me but now it appears that all of my questions have been answered and I am ready to have some serious fun.
Now if I can only remember where I put my camera. Nuff said! Good night all.
