I got a wild hair the other day and bought a Mamiya RZ67. As I don't have the money laying around for a digital back, I am going to be shooting film (and I am feeling a bit nostalgic) and I am interested in getting my negatives scanned into digital format so they will fit into my normal workflow. What is a good lab for this service? I want something of professional quality so I can take full advantage of the medium format. Thanks! -Jason

I don't know any in your area. And I don't know how the following labs are for film negatives, but they rock for transparency scans. They are also only mildly expensive:

Chrome in San Diego: http://chromedigital.com/index.html
DCC Photo just outside of Philadelphia: http://www.dccphoto.com/

If you want to get serious, I can give you the name of a gentleman who produces some of the best transparency drum scans I've ever seen. Back in the day he used to print B&W for the likes of Robert Mapplethorpe and Joel-Peter Witkin. He's going to be more expensive than the above places, but he's absolutely top notch.
