I'm using Adobe CS3 Camera Raw to convert my work. I'm curious what you guys are using ... and why?

I'm using Canon's raw convert. Reason...I can't afford Cs2/3 and it came with the camera

I use Olympus Studio 2 for most of my RAW work. It's not the fastest in the land, but I'm not a high volume shooting pro. Occasionally I ACR in PSE 4.0, but the inability to preview all of my RAW files at once is a pain. I downloaded Arcsoft' RAW Thumbnail Veiwer and that helps when all I need is a quick peek. The best thing is the latter is free!

I use Adobe CS3 Camera Raw too but I also use Nikon Picture Project (free) for quick and easy batch conversions. I was hoping to see more response to this question.

Adobe Lightroom has my vote hands down. For the quick jobs with not a lot of photoshop work need to them, I have found LR suited for my style of work.

Absolutely Digital,

I thought about taking the LR plunge, but opted for Studio instead. Maybe in the future I'll explore it.

Coach,

I heard good things about Capture One, but I really can't justify the price I'd pay for the speed. As with LR maybe I'll try it one day.

Adobe Lightroom, it's quick, simple, easy and offers lot's of extras with back-ups of all files, including the originals. It transitions seamlessly into Photoshop too....thanks, rg sends!

I just open them directly using Photoshop CS2.

If its really a RAW file, then it won't open directly in any version of Photoshop. There are some keystroke methods that appear to bypass the ACR part of Photoshop, but it still goes through the ACR RAW conversion process without showing the interface. It applies the default auto settings or the settings the last image was last set at when in the RAW converter.

I use ACR in CS3 and I find the workflow to be perfect. Quick and Snappy. I find I can do 90% of my work in ACR alone and often process hundreds of photos at once with only 4 or 5 of them being actually loaded all the way into CS3.

Cheers,
rfs
