I have to do some demonstrations and need to shoot and have the photo appear on a large screen right away so the audiance can see what is being shot.

I shoot Nikon and have Nikon capture but it only shows thumbnails and you have to click to enlarge them.

Is there software that will do that or am I doing something wrong in Nikon capture?

Thanks!

Nikon capture can do it. There is a check box somewhere that says open in viewer. Without the camera hooked up, I cant get to the screens to tell you where it is. But it is there, I've done it. be sure and shoot lower res pictures if you can so they'll load faster.

I lied.
Tools>>Download Options

When an image is downloaded the dropdown says DO Nothing.
click it and change it to open in viewer.

I thought it was a check box, its a dropdown with 2 choices.

took a while to remember too..

I closed the tools boxes, and select to view to fit window and it almost goes full screen. This should work, the only thing it it shows image and then flashes back to blank window then shows photo again. It does this very quickly almost like a flash. A little annoying but at least it works. Thanks!

Check to see if you have Nikon Capture Control. This may be what you are looking for.

Thanks! I do have Nikon Capture Control. That's what controls the camera functions.
I was looking to see if there was other software that would work as a preview system for clients to watch the session on a monitor etc as well as my presentation.

DSLR Remote Pro should give you what you're looking for. It's produced by Breeze Systems and it works quite nicely for tethered shooting.

Remote Pro only controlls Canon cameras.

Sorry, that never occurred to me. In light of that epiphany, I (jokingly) suggest that the OP immediately switch to Canon.
