I want to plug my USB cable from my D200 into my laptop and use it as the display while shooting. I installed Nikon Capture view but it always says it can't find the camera.

Anybody made this work?

Don't know about Nikon Capture, but Nikon Camera Control Pro works the way you describe.

You will need to use Camera Control Pro or Camera Control Pro 2.0.

The camera control software I had was bundled with nikon capture. That's why I called it the wrong thing. The problem was I had an older version. Downloaded the current trial and it works like a charm.

Kinda cool too.

You have to put the camera into PTP mode.

It'll even focus and shoot from the keyboard. Saves the images to the laptop instead of the card.

does time lapse too.

(I'm going to try it at a portrait shoot where there are 5 "girlfriends" all posing, to eliminate the "let me see" factor. If it works well I might actually buy the thing ($70 after the 30 day trial))
