Hey everyone I took my good friends advice (Michael Grecco) and am switching everything to Apple. I ordered all my harware today but had a question on CS3. Is it worth the upgrade or should I use stick with CS2 for now. What about lightroom? Any advice from some users would be great. Thanks

There are many new features in CS3 that are really great for photographers. I think its a solid upgrade. There are quite a few crossovers with CS3 and Lightroom. Personally I'm not getting Lightroom as my workflow doesn't really need it. I did play with the beta for a while.
Cheers,
rfs

Photoshop CS3 is also Adobe's first Universal Binary version of the software that is fully optimized for Apple's new Intel-based Macs. CS2 and earlier versions run through Rosetta in the newer Intel-Macs so there's a speed and performance penalty. If you're buying a new Mac, don't buy the old software. It'll work, but not as well.

If you are going Mac, you should look at Aperture.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I did hear something about the communication with Apples being better. As for Aperture, I've invested so much time learning Photoshop I'd hate to start all over. I also heard it was power hungry. I'll upgrade to CS3. Again thank you.

Aperture doesn't replace any Photoshop, it augments it.
