I would like to try some shots with some Gobo's that I got to create interesting light/shadow patterns. Any ideas on a reasonably priced projector I can buy or a system I can rig up?

regards

A very inexpensive one is this one:

http://goboman.com/item.asp?cID=0&scID=45&PID=567

I've not used it, but it looks interesting and it doesn't cost all that much.

Years ago I attended a wedding workshop by a photographer who was selling a kit to make your own out of cardboard. He used it over a White Lighting head. At the time I bought the kit and made one but have since lost the item and the instructions (this was in the 70's). I remember it worked quite well. Perhaps someone will remember who it was.

Cheers,
rfs

Thanks! Since this costs less than a White Lighting head (which I don't have) I will definately check this out.

Try B&H Photo, they carry the Studio Systems Background Image Projector for $40.00 and it can be easily attached to your strobe.

Thanks! This certainly looks like a good alternative. Do you know if it can be adapted to other brands of strobes? I have novatrons.

That name "Chuck" does ring a bell. Do you recall the last name? I wanted to look him up on the Internet if I could?
Thanks,

Thanks. Chuck (or Charles) Lewis was the name. And the name of his Gobo projector was "Adapt-A-Spot". I Googled that and found one that was sold on eBay back in February. You can still see the photo of the kit there:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=160084319902

I searched around to see if anyone else was selling them or had a PDF of the instructions, but didn't find anything. Also it was not mentioned on Charles Lewis's website.

Cheers,
rfs
