Hi,

I created a path using the pentool and named it "Path 1". See image below.

I want to select the skin only, not the swimsuit nor the shadows on the skin. For the "interior loops", I used the "Subtract from path area" button.

I then clicked on the control clicked on Path 1 to activate the selection. See image below.

You'll note that the selection is the exterior portion or loop. It doesn't include the "inside rings"--the skin areas inside the loops of the swimsuit.

The path on the "Paths" palette looks like this:

My question is, how do I use the pentool to be include the "interior rings" as well?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Kevin

My mistake was the "subtract". In looking at the diagram more closely, the "interior loops" were not interior to the larger closed loop. They were, in other words, incremental or additive to the path area. To solve the problem, I selected the smaller loops using the Direct Selection Tool, and changed from "Subtract from path" to "Add to path area".
