a never ending battle. First Wal-Mart closes almost every mom and pop operation in my home town. Now along with their portriat studio, they are gunning after photographers. I guess this will only add flame to the argument from the purist that the 10D is not a professional camera. Meanwhile every pro in my hometown tells me that I must be rich to be able to have purchased one and they wish they had my 10D instead of the Nikon D1x.

Clint:

I got no problem with that, it beats the "Pro" camera store here that sells everything suggested retail (about 50% more than B&H on-line).

Not sure what the "purist argument" is based on, I know extremely successful pros who shoot with D30s and even more ancient film gear and it doesn't phase them a bit... it's not the camera so much as the shooter. I agree about the gear, but I did buy my 10D from B&H at the same price as what wally has listed. and in all fairness B&H prices are not all that more expensive. and in some case I have purchased gear from them cheaper than I could have locally or other online retailers. just my little plug for B&H. Henry Posner even emailed me the day my 10D shipped.
