Obviously the copyright info is not going to be invisible on the image when viewed and then suddenly magically appear when printed. It is possible technologically to do this, but only if the printer software knows about the hidden mark and can render it during printing. To my knowledge none of the home printers have such software in them and neither do commercial printers at Walmart, etc. If the current digital rights paranoia continues, however, I assume we'll see stuff like that in home printers at some point. Of course, someone else will sell a cheap software work around, or have a filter in PS that removes the invisible watermark.
Your best bet is to just apply a watermark of some sort. Of course that makes the print less desirable to the client. But you can charge a premium to provide prints without the watermark. And a well done visible watermark can be quite unobtrusive, but at the same time very difficult to remove.
