Hi,

Really need your help concerning the 2 external flash that I have.

First I have bought Metz 54 MZ zi with proper adapter for Canon EOS350D and I have second one which is Canon 430EX.

The problem is that I can not start 430EX mounted off camera with Metz mounted on camera....

Is there something that I do not know....

I have information from the seller that is possible to do this combination but after some hour of trying I did not manage to start it.

Would appriciate your help very much...

Zak

I would set up the canon flash on a bracket, set it to manual, then use the metz for fill also set on manual, using a flashmeter you could adjust each accordingly, this is the simplest most fool proof way. Jeffrey

If I remember properly, only Canon branded ex flash units can operate together in wireless mode. While the metz may have the Canon DX module on it, it probably only allows for the TTL (or iTTL or eTTL or whatever Canon calls it now) Short of using the slave and flashmeter route Jeffery suggests I think you may be out of luck.

Try using the 430 EX on camera and Metz as slave. That may be an option and probably have to shoot in manual mode with some test shots.....

the 430 ex can only be remotely fired by onother 430 ex or by a 550ex. the 550ex can be used as a slave to a monolight though. found that out the hard way
