[quote=TimH;234312]Looking for recommendations from those Canon Users out there for a really solid canon(or compatible) telephoto lens for shooting glamour.

My budget's in the $1,000.00 range. Anyone have one that they are crazy about? Why?

First of all-- AWESOME photo-- I love it!

As for your question, for under 1k, my #1 choice is the 135L f2. It is the sharpest canon lens I have ever seen for any price!

Another option is since you can't do the 70-200f2.8IS due to price, the 70-200F4 IS is just as sharp (or sharper if you read certain reviews/tests) and runs around 1150. Personally for studio use, I would use the 135 assuming you don't mind going with primes. For zooms, 24-70L 2.8, 24-105L f4 IS, and 70-200f2.8 IS are all awesome.

You might want to look into the 70-200f2.8L it doesn't have the IS so you will need a good tripod, as for primes I have found the 60f2.8 IS Macro to be an outstanding glamour lens and cheap on the pocket book, ( I know everyone is saying 85 or 100 or 105 for glamour) Like all primes you have to move more but the clarity, depth of field, fall off are almost as good as the 70-200f2.8 IS (say the reviewers I say as good if not better and it stomps my 70-200f2.8 at very low light) watch out for the auto-focus on these lenes it works fine but with bracketing you can lose the second or third image.
