I think I know the answer to this, but I need one of you seasoned photographers (who still use the 20 year old Norman powerpacks) to offer an opinion.

I just bought my second wireless flash trigger off eBay (I just love those cheap little devices). Since they use a 1/4 mono plug and my powerpack uses a household plug, I build an adapter. So far, so good. My 20-year old Norman powerpack uses a detachable electrical cord that looks just like a standard extension cord. The wireless trigger actually replaces the electrical line and has a pigtail that plus into the sync input.

Here's the problem --
The plug on the wireless trigger is exactly the same type of plug that fits into most computers or Alien Bee lights ... but it doesn't fit into the powerpack. If I create an adapter to go from a computer-type plug to an extension-type plug, it should work. Right? Am I overlooking anything?.

The answer is yes. You can buy the exact plug if your willing to hunt for it. Just try to make sure you hook up the common and the hot to the correct sides. It would not cause a short but some electronic equipment are picky about what side is where.
