Hey Paul,

I have a friend who's used one for a 4x5 class when she was in school not too long ago, and I hung out with her and watched her use it. She actually didn't like it at all because of how long it took, but I'm thinking I'll like it just fine, since even when I'm shooting 35mm I tend to take forever composing, metering, etc. before I take even one shot.

I don't have a Polaroid back on order for this one yet, but I'm sure I'll be getting one soon, as I have one for my medium format, and even one of my 35mms. Aside from being useful for checking exposure and composition, I just have fun playing with them.

Thanks Paul, and good luck with yours too!

Sam

Hey Sam,

My best friend, who is a professional musician, once told me; "Life is like music, you can't rush it. Everything 's better at the right tempo." I feel the same way about large format. There is a tempo to it and once you find it, it is very sweet.

Let's hope there are some more Large format fans out there!

Paul

All of this reminds me of the equipment left to me by my father. It is an 8x10 Kodak Studio camera, with a 105mm Voightlander and Son's lens. I have used it for years, for in studio portraits.

The good thing about this post is that I wanted to reply so much that I finally got over the hurdle of posting a image.

Hey Olli, I checked out that forum, and looks like lots of good info there. Thanks! And that Gowlandflex looks fun to play with. Are those fixed lenses, or changeable?

Heh, yeah, about eBay, I always end up spending more there than I do making money from it.

I've seen a few 4x5 slides from someone back in school, and they were amazing. Can't wait to try it out myself.
