I am going to order a piece of plexiglass form a local glass/window store, but I am not sure of what size (and thickness) would be the best for shooting a full body shots of a model laying on the floor. I was thinking of a size 2.5' x 6'. I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks ,Gosia

That's pretty small. Some hardware stores carry the 4X8 size in 1/8 inch thickness for about $70.

My recommendation is to go 6' x 8' by 3/16" or 1/4". Also, a lot of the acrylic found in hardware stores has a green tinge to it. You don't want that stuff. Look for a plastics or acrylics dealer in your area. The stuff I mention above goes for around $115 (clear) to $150 (black) around me. Your mileage may vary.

Go with at least 4x8. I sometimes you two 4x8 sheets.

1/8" or 1/4"

I appreciate your advice, I'm glad that I asked before ordering...
I think I will go w/ 4x8 and nothing smaller. I like your picture by the way, did you use black plexi or clear on this picture?
thanks, gosia

Why black plexiglass? Does it work better for you with darker colors?

Black, being the absence of color, does not add to or mute what ever color you are trying to reflect. White tends to mute. The only thing better might be a mirror.
