When I was first getting started with Photoshop (7 was just coming out), I did a google search and found the name Dean Collins associated with Software Cinema. I had been to a Dean Collins lighting seminar in the 1980's and knew he was among the best photographers in the country. So I bought the CDs from Software Cinema. They are Quicktime movies and you can go at your own pace...stop and open Photoshop and try it out...then go back to the movie. I learn a lot faster visually as opposed to a book and these CDs have been the best money I ever spent.
I have no financial interest in the company and nothing to gain by recommending them... or anyone else for that matter. Also, join a couple of Yahoo groups associated with Photoshop. I am a member of several, and someone is always willing to answer questions and offer links to neat tutorials.
