On ebay there are a lot of Photoshop Training dvd's... I, being new to this great world of digital, am very interested in getting one of these... my question is since I am using Photoshop CS, does any one have any "thumbs up or thumbs down" for any of these training DVD's?

Don't know about the DVDs on eBay, but I subscribe to Digital Camera magazine and each issue contains photography tips, stories and ... a Photoshop tutorial. The really cool thing is that they include a DVD in each issue with the images they use in the tutorial, plus many issues have a video tutorial included on the DVD. It's saved me a LOT of time and made my PS skills much better!

When I was first getting started with Photoshop (7 was just coming out), I did a google search and found the name Dean Collins associated with Software Cinema. I had been to a Dean Collins lighting seminar in the 1980's and knew he was among the best photographers in the country. So I bought the CDs from Software Cinema. They are Quicktime movies and you can go at your own pace...stop and open Photoshop and try it out...then go back to the movie. I learn a lot faster visually as opposed to a book and these CDs have been the best money I ever spent.
I have no financial interest in the company and nothing to gain by recommending them... or anyone else for that matter. Also, join a couple of Yahoo groups associated with Photoshop. I am a member of several, and someone is always willing to answer questions and offer links to neat tutorials.

Don,
Check out NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) at the following address:
http://www.photoshopuser.com/
For a yearly subscription you get their magazine and unlimited access to the web site. There are tons of videos and tutorials on EVERY aspect of Photoshop. You can even get discounts on DVDs and books authored by their writers. I have attended a couple of their seminars and highly recommend them.
Tom
