Er, currently the Sigma site doesn't list a 70-210/2.8 zoom. But their 70-200/2.8 zoom takes a 77 mm filter size, of which Adorama lists 6 lens hoods, with the best for your purposes - the telephoto version, works from 21mm to 210mm lenses - being out of stock.

If you're rich and do mostly studio work, you might try one of the bellows hoods - I've never used one, but they look cool, IMO. Then again, I think view cameras are the bee's knees, so to speak.

Well, Cokin makes a "Modular Bellows Hood X-PRO" for $249.95 (Adorama price) that, with a $56 adaptor, will fit...

or there's the bargin priced (these things are relative) "Modular Bellows Hood P" for $169.95, requiring a $13.99 adpator.

One could always opt for B&H, who has several 82 mm screw-ins in the $50 price range. But the bellows hoods are so, photographic looking.

How 'bout a DIY version...
http://www.lenshoods.co.uk/

The lens you require a hood for is listed there and the files are in PDF format. There's a large number of lenses listed there, so if anybody else is interested you know where to go

Actually, Jayson, if you're just shooting indoors, or rather controlled outdoors stuff, I'd be inclined to use blackened metal foil and scour keh, etc., for a used hood. Or get creative, as cozanostra suggests. $50 seems awefully pricey for what is a relatively simple thing. 86 mm is nearly 3 3/16", if I recall. Can probably get a simple adapter ring or even cheap filter for $15, to give the thread.

Good luck.

I'm thinking about some black cinefoil maybe as well...you can do so much with that...

FWIW, I checked out keh after writing the previous message. They didn't have an 86 mm filter for less than $40. Cinefoil sounds better and better.

The lens makers typically don't design a new hood for each lens therefore if
you contact Sigma they will likely tell you which of the hoods from their other
lenses will work with the 70-210mm F2.8.
