That would be a valid point, if he were a documentary photographer of fashion models (or if he worked for one). I doubt he is.
Documentary and fashion photography are completely opposite. One values reality (from, at least, one person's viewpoint) and the other values perfection (perfect symmetry, smoothness, blemishless, etc). You can't judge one with the other's values in mind. Well, you can, but you'd be wasting your time.
